Intermodal project is participating in the Ministry of Transport prize
Ewals Cargo Care is taking part with its intermodal solution in the competition called Free way 2011, organized by the Federation of Transport, based on agreement with the Ministry of transport. This competition will be evaluated projects which make an important contribution to transfer a certain amount of goods on rail. Evaluation of competition is expected in August 2011.
Ewals Cargo Care under its invironmental policy strives to minimize its activity impact on the environment
Thanks to intermodal transportation, ECC saved more than 650 tonnes of CO2 emissions for the firts 4 months of this year. This figure corresponds for example to an operating fleet which counts 180 Skoda Octavia cars running 30000 km/year. Our customers are rewarded with Ewals Cargo Green Care certificates where is given emmision savings in their transportation.

Ewals Cargo Care has doubled the transport capacity
From 26.4. ECC doubled the transport capacity of the intermodal route connecting Ostrava with Dusisburg. Now we carry regularly 5 times a week with four Huckepacks trailers in each direction.

Since October 2011, when Ewals Cargo Care began with Intermodal transports, we have successfully realized more than 350 shipments in this mode. ECC also started to use the Paskov terminal and expanded portfolio of services by another line linking the Ruhr/Benelux with eastern parts of the country.

From 10.1. 2011 is fully operational a train line Ostrava - Duisburg and back, which Ewals Cargo Care uses for intermodal shipments between the Moravian-Silesia region and Ruhr/Benelux area. The basic advantages of this mode of transport is its environmental friendliness, reliability, and possibility to load up to 28 tons of cargo. Therefore ECC became a pioneer of new solutions to significantly reduce the traffic burden on the environment and quality of life in the regions.

Ewals Cargo Care launches a novel service for goods transportation: intermodal transports (gallery)
To meet current trends in logistics as regards both economical and environment friendly transportation, ECC CZ started with the intermodal services in October, 2010. Currently, the railway line Lovosice – Duisburg is used in both directions for these services. Thus, Ewals can offer the service to customers between the regions of central/north Bohemia and Ruhrland/Benelux. Another railway line connecting Ostrava and Duisburg will go into operation in December, 2010, and customers from Moravia-Silesian region will be also provided with the service.
For the intermodal transports, ECC uses Ewals Mega Huckepack trailers (13.62 x 2.48 x 2.97 m) with loading space of 100 m3 that are transported by train unaccompanied.The trailers can be loaded from the side, back, and top (removable roof-crane can be used). Transportation of heavier loads (benefit of the German legislation) and low pollution of the environment (CO2 and nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced by 90 and 66%, respectively) could be listed among main advantages of the intermodal transport.

Transports to Moscow
In October was realized the first test drive with Frigo trailer to Moscow. After the great success we expect the implementation of the regular shipments from November 2010.

Logistics in pharmaceutical industry - conference
In December 8th and 9th Ewals Cargo Care spol. s r.o. was partner of the Conference focused on the logistics in pharmaceutical industry, participated with specialist both in pharmaceutical and logistics industries. There were presented our Mega double decker frigos.

Mega Frigo trailers
ECC fleet has been expanded to Mega Frigo trailers. All of them have two flexible floors system and hold 66 pallets places.These trailers are suitable for ordinary goods transports as well as for goods, which require controlled temperature. Most up to date safety system equipped.

We offer transports with Mega Box Trailers of inner sizes: 13,025 x 2,480 x 2,900 m.
Suitable for transports of goods of high value.
Mechanic and electonic security and also on-line monitoring of the trailers.
Another special equipment enabling transports to eastern Europe. Trailers are also suitable for transports in carnet TIR regime.
The trailers can be used as Double Deckers as well.
